Singer, actress and restauranteur Lady Gaga is seeking to add another feather to her cap.
The entertainer’s company, Ate My Heart Inc., is currently working on a new brand of cosmetics called “Haus Beauty.”
Haus Beauty — which is currently in “stealth mode” is being run by CEO Ben Jones, the former chief digital officer at Honest Company and its offshoot Honest Beauty, sources said.
Haus Beauty may not have any customers as yet, but it already has the backing of one of Silicon Valley’s top venture capital firms for consumer startups.
Lightspeed Venture Partners, the investment firm that made early bets on companies like Snap, Stitch Fix and Jessica Alba’s Honest Company, has made an undisclosed early investment in Haus Beauty.
Similar investments in the early days of companies like Snap, Stitch Fix, and Honest Company were in the $5 million to $10 million range.
The news comes in the heels of success stories of beauty brands ran by celebrities. Rihanna’s Fenty has been hugely successful with more than four million instagram followers just an year after it launched. another major success story is Kylie Cosmetics from Kylie Jenner — who just yesterday was referred to as “set to be the youngest ever self-made billionaire” on the cover of Forbes .
