On Tuesday, Google India announced a new mentorship program, Launchpad Accelerator India, for startups using machine learning/ artificial intelligence “to build solutions for India’s local needs.”
The three-month accelerator programme will help grow the AI and ML ecosystem in India by helping Indian startups build scalable solutions problems specific to the country.
Applications are currently open until July 31 at 12 p.m. IST with classes expected to start in September. The first cohort will begin programming in September of this year, shortlisted startups of the “up to 10” that are picked will have the opportunity to attend a “two-week in-person bootcamp.”
The selected startups will receive mentorship, access to the best of Google — its people, network and technologies — and up to $100K of Google Cloud Credits. Also, the shortlisted startups will receive extensive mentorship and support from the best of people working at Google in AI/ML, cloud, UX, Android, web, product strategy and marketing.

- Have preferably at least raised seed funding.
- Build a solution that addresses a real challenge of the country.
- Uses advanced technology like AI/ML to power the solution.
