Report: African Startups raises USD 168.6 million in the first half of 2018

According to a report prepared by WeeTrack team, African Startups have raised USD 168.6 million in the first half of 2018. When you compare this to the $167.7 million raised the whole of last year, its clear to see African startups for greatness

There were a total of 118 deals with 28 startups raising $1 million and above.

Fintech is the highest funded as well as acquires the most number of deals with a total of 25 out of the 118 deals. Coming a close second and third were the healthtech and agritech sectors which got 13 and 10 dealk respectively, while ecommerce came fourth with nine deals.

Nigeria was the most funded country followed by Kenya and Egypt respectively.

Here’s a list of the top ten startups that received the most funding.
