Hi Colin, thanks for taking the time to talk to us. Please give us a brief background about yourself (education, employment etc)

I  have a masters in IT Management from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. I have worked at the managerial level at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) where I specialized in system application development projects.

Give us some description about your project?

We are The Member Company of Incu-Tech Programme, HKSTPC which specialize in integrating the Bluetooth 4.0 (also sometimes referred to Bluetooth low energy / BLE) in remote control and automation to lighting, appliance and home control applications of all types. Our Bluetooth Smart product series is unique in the market. It enables smart home appliances (Switches, Lighting, and more) be controlled wirelessly via your smartphone or tablet.

What is your campaign seeking to do?

The key objective of our campaign is to introduce our brand & products to the global market. We are the leading players when it comes to a wide range of Bluetooth Smart Home products. Most of our competitors are working on Wifi products which requires complicated setup and depends on routers. The beauty of Bluetooth products is they are plug and play.  we are trying to promote a similar concept by introducing simpler Smart Home options for customers.

Yes, there are several people:

Cindy Wong (Manager) – A home appliance manufacturer with over 20 years’ experience on inventing and manufacturing wireless products.

Sherrin Tse (Product Manager) – With over 7 years on product development, Sherrin helps to research, build and manage the product lifecycle.

Tak Wong (Project Manager) – With experience of leading to build over 100 apps, some of them with over 10k downloads, Tak is the chief engineer of building the mobile application.

Engineer Li (Chief Electrical Engineer) – With over 25 years for PCB design and electrical safety compliance, Li leads the team to integrate the circuit and manage the electrical standard and compliance.

Penny Chung (Marketing Executive) – Define and organize marketing events.

When is your campaign scheduled to end?

Its scheduled to end on 9 May 2014

How many people have you so far attracted?

41 contributors. Our website has raised around 200 visitors / day to 2000 visitors / day.

How much money have you so far collected?

$2785 USD through the crowfunding event. For our website and exhibition, we got over 1000 sample orders (around $50,000 USD).

How much money are you seeking to collect at the end of your campaign?

$100,000

How do you reward those who contribute to your campaign?

The contributors are entitled as early bird offer to receive our Bluetooth Wall Switch.

Why did you select Indiegogo as your platform of choice as opposed to others?

The original selection was between Kickstarter and Indiegogo. They are both famous in the world. We chose Indiegogo finally because it doesn’t restrict the citizenship of the organizer of a project.

Does Indiegogo help you in any way with your campaign?

No so far. We helped to promote the platform instead. I think it will if we get enough public awareness.

How do you pay Indiegogo for running your campaign on their platform?

They charge the customer directly and pay us back after the event.

How have you promoted your campaign?

It’s been mainly social media and press releases.

 What have been most challenging about running your campaign?

We are running a traditional model of sales, and all of our team members are engineers. We are lacking experience in marketing our project or running the crowfunding campaign.

What has been most rewarding about your campaign?

By initiating this campaign, we got a lot of references and supporters who gave us many tips for marketing the project in crowfunding platform. Also, we met many new press and blogger friends from around the world. It’s definitely a good start and will be of benefit for our next step.

Any other information about your campaign or project you would like to tell us?

We are also planning our next event to release the full range of our Bluetooth Smart Home products in May.
