Samsung Galaxy S4 Active LTE-A version with Snapdragon 800 surfaces online

For some time now there have been rumors that Samsung was preparing an updated version of its Galaxy S4 Active smartphone. Well those rumors just got a little concrete today.

Reports suggest that Samsung is planning to introduce a Snapdragon 800, LTE-Advanced version of the Galaxy S4 Active, the ruggedised (water and dust resistant) version of the company’s flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S4.

Details of this new iteration of the Galaxy S4 Active were leaked by Korean website DAUM(via – Slashgear), which claims to have spotted documents related to it on Samsung’s Korean website.

Apart from the IP67 rating for waterproof and rustproof features, the Galaxy S4 Active’s LTE-Advanced version will offer LTE-connectivity through Qualcomm’s processor-integrated LTE antenna, allowing the phone to work with more than one LTE band for faster access.

The phone will be powered by an advanced version of the Snapdragon 800 chip, have 2GB RAM,  5-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels resolution, Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 2-megapixel front facing camera, 16GB internal storage expandable to 64GB, and a 2600mAh battery.

The phone will reportedly be launched in Japan through SK Telecom.
