Chinese company Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd has unveiled its new offspring of Smartphone Ascend Mate that features a huge 6.1 inches touch screen.
The phone was launched during 2013 Internationals CES in Las Vegas before being released in China in February 2013.
The Huawei Ascend Mate has been spotted online sporting a price tag of Rs 28,900. The smartphone has been seen listed on Flipkart with all the specifications and key features in tow. While the smartphone has also been listed on infibeam, the price has not been stated.
The 9.9 mm thick Ascend Mate has a 6.1-inch 720p display, powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core Hi-Silicon K3V2 processor and runs on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean with Huawei’s EmotionUI 1.5 on top, a 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 1-megapixel HD front-facing camera.
In terms of memory, the Ascend Mate sports a 2GB RAM, and 8GB of internal memory expanded to 64 GB.
The 4050 mAh battery boasts up to 9 days of standby time, according to the company. The Ascend Mate proves users with 3G, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, dualband WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n and GPS connectivity options.
Huawei is trying their best to put a firm foot in the Indian markets with their smartphones as India has now become a potential target market for all the tech giants especially after the success witnessed by Samsung.
Interestingly, though the listing for the Huawei Ascend Mate is out on Flipkart, the page says the smartphone is currently out of stock. Infibeam has also said that the phone is coming soon. This might mean the current price may not be the final one. The company should be launching the Ascend Mate later this month. Interested users should definitely look out for pre-order booking deals.
