Just days after Acer launched the industry’s first 8.1-inch tablet running on Microsoft’s Windows 8, Taiwan-based Inventec showed off its own version of Windows 8 tablet, Inventec Lyon at Computex1.
The tablet will however not be sold Inventec Lyon name since Inventec are a contract manufacturer who will make this or similar devices to be branded by other companies.
The Inventec Lyon 7-inch Windows 8.1 tablet features a 1280 x 800 resolution IPS screen, a 1.66Ghz Intel Atom Bay Bay Trail quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM and 64GB of storage with a 128 GB option to be offered in the future.
The one pound tablet features rear- and front-facing cameras, a microSD slot, microHDMI port, and microUSB port.
The Lyon has one Computex rival so far in the tiny tablet category: the 8-inch Acer Iconia W3 tablet
