Weeks after Nokia unveiled Nokia Lumia 520 and Nokia Lumia 720, the two gadgets made their debut in East Africa.
Both handsets will run on Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 operating system and will spot a1Ghz dual-core chip and 512MBs of RAM.
The cheaper Lumia 520 is equipped with a 5MP camera while the higher end Lumia 720 features a 6.7-megapixel camera and a 1.3MP front-facing shooter. “The adoption of smartphones is growing rapidly across East Africa, and especially in Kenya,” says Bruce Howe, general manager for Nokia East Africa.
“This growth is being driven largely by the affordable smartphone segment, and we are pleased to add the Nokia Lumia 520 to our range, bringing signature Lumia experiences to new price points and consumers.”
Both devices will be available locally in white, black and red, with a vague May release date.
