Samsung rumored to launch Galaxy S4 Zoom smartphone with 16-megapixel camera

If a recent report is to be believed, Samsung is all set to launch a new camera focused phone.

Codenamed SM-C1010, Samsung will launch the camera-focused phone under the Samsung Galaxy S4 brand. The camera-special phone is expected to come with a 16 MP camera, an upgrade of the Samsung Galaxy S4 which is equipped with a brilliant 13 MP camera.

The phone is said to feature a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED/SAMOLED display and is expected to run on android platform. It’s also expected that the new Samsung phone will be equipped with jelly Bean 4.2. All indications are that the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom will be a dual-core or a quad-core phone with 8 GB internal memory that is expandable up to 64 GB.There’s still no word on the resolution, the processor or the RAM of the phone.

According to reports leaked by SamMobile, Samsung will announce the phone as early as this month and the phone is expected to go on sale latest by July.

Samsung is expected to launch a number of new smartphones under the Galaxy S4 sub-brand including a rugged phone and a mid-range variant, the Galaxy S4 Mini.

It would be interesting to see how Samsung’s strategy of launching specialised phones under one umbrella brand works out for the company.
