The Japanese company has extended its collection of mid-range smartphones with the Xperia SP and the Xperia L.
The Xperia SP (codenamed HuaShan) features a 4.6 inch display with 1280 x 720 pixels, dual-core 1.7GHz Qualcomm processor, Adreno 320 GPU, and an 8MP rear camera.
The Xperia L (codenamed Taoshan) sports a 4.3 inch FWVGA (854 x 480) display, 8MP rear camera, dual-core 1GHz Qualcomm processor, Adreno 305 graphics, 8GB of internal memory (expandable via MicroSD), and a 1,700 mAh battery.
Both handsets will ship on a heavily skinned version of Google’s Android 4.1 operating system (same as the upscale Z), and not the newer Android 4.2 software, which is found on phones like Google’s Nexus 4 and the newly announced Samsung Galaxy S4.
